Our New Cocktail with Purpose: 50% of all profits to local LGBTQIA+ charities

At The Usual, we believe in an equal, diverse, and proudly inclusive society. That's why we're shaking things up with a bold new cocktail: Sip with Pride. Every glass you enjoy gives back, with 50 % of profits supporting local LGBTQIA+ charities in both the cities we’re located: Rotterdam and Brussels.

Our DEIA Team (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility) and Culture Club came up with the Pride cocktail. At The Usual, we believe true hospitality means making everyone feel valued and free to be themselves. That’s why Sip with Pride is more than just a colorful new drink—it’s a story of inclusivity in every glass.

What is it Sip with Pride?

It is a celebration of community, connection, and mindful enjoyment that goes beyond just a cocktail. Every city has a unique, colorful twist that is shaped by local tastes.

Rotterdam

Rotterdam’s version brings together Dutch Ketel 1 Jenever and Naturfrisk pink grapefruit soda, balanced with strawberry syrup and a bright edible flower. A playful mix that’s as vibrant as the city itself.

Brussels

Brussels’ take features Brussels Distillery Gin, topped with Ritchie Grapefruit Soda, a hint of Monin Blue Curaçao syrup, and a handful of fresh berries. A bold, colourful twist that reflects the city’s creative energy.

And if cocktails aren’t your thing? No worries, both versions are also available as a refreshing 0.0% mocktail.

Where?

Our Sip with Pride cocktail or 0.0% mocktail is already available in both hotels in Rotterdam and Brussels. Best of all, it's not just a Pride Week special. Since we celebrate Pride year-round at The Usual, Sip with Pride will stay on our menu for at least a year, and half of the price will always go to donations.

Who are we partnering with to make a real impact?

In Rotterdam, we are partnering with COC Nederlands on their peer-supported project Cocktail. Through this project, LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Netherlands can connect with LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers. Together, we’re helping to end the loneliness that many asylum seekers face when they arrive by creating friendships, safe spaces, and visibility for the community through social activities.

In Belgium, we’re collaborating with çavaria, an umbrella organisation that stands up for LGBTQIA+ people and their rights across Flanders and Brussels. Their mission is to create a society where everyone can feel safe, empowered, and proud of who they are, whether at home, at work, or out in the world. By donating part of every Sip with Pride sold, we’re helping them continue their work in building visibility, offering support, and making equality the norm.

We’re also hosting events and initiatives throughout the year to extend our collaboration with both charities, so keep an eye on our socials for the latest updates and ways to join in. We view supporting and participating in our local communities as a big part of our approach to sustainability.
